Couples Therapy When Something Isn’t Working

When communication keeps breaking down, distance grows, or the same conflict resurfaces week after week, it’s easy to feel stuck. Many couples reach out because something isn’t working anymore — and they don’t want to keep repeating the same pattern.

At Saltwater Souls Counseling, you work with a clinician who understands the unique dynamics of LGBTQ+ relationships. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ couples and use a structured, research-informed approach to help partners slow reactive cycles, rebuild trust, and create more secure connection.

Drawing from the Gottman Method and attachment theory, our work focuses on identifying the patterns driving tension and replacing them with clearer communication and steadier emotional regulation. Sessions are collaborative, direct, and goal-oriented — designed to create meaningful movement, not endless rehashing.

Secure telehealth makes consistent care accessible across Florida, including Tampa Bay, Miami, and beyond.

The Process

  • We begin with a complimentary consultation with both partners to determine if we’re a good fit for couples therapy together

  • After the consultation, we will jump into our first couples session where we collaboratively set therapeutic goals and begin the process of working together.

  • After the first couple’s session, we will have a session with each individual. I’ll meet with each partner one-on-one to hear your goals, perspectives, and concerns before we sit down together again as a couple.

  • I recommend weekly couples counseling sessions, adjusting the frequency as needed based on our progress.
